Head Coach: Kathy Jewell

Kathy is originally from Buffalo, New York but has lived in Billings, Montana and currently resides in Washington, DC. While in Montana she was the cornerstone of the Figure Skating Club of Billings as well as the development of the skating program in Cody, Wyoming.  She has been teaching for 30 years, skaters of all ages and abilities, beginners through national competitors.  Kathie’s emphasis is on freestyle and moves in the field.  She enjoys teaching skaters of all levels with a variety of goals – be it recreational or competitive.

Kathie has always maintained a full-time position with the Bureau of Land Management as well as skating. She commutes between Washington DC and Montana/Wyoming to accomplish both goals.

Coach: Kyla Jewell

Kyla Jewell hails from Billings, MT and started skating at the age of just two. She currently attends Montana State University in Bozeman, MT where she studies Mechanical Engineering, but having begun competing at a young age, figure skating is her passion. Kyla thoroughly enjoys competing, and coaching, and over the last five years Kyla has been travelling Europe fulfilling her dream of joining a professional figure skating show. We are delighted that Kyla returned to teach our skaters at the AFSC.

Coach: Corey Jewell

​Corey is a Montana native, currently living in Albuquerque, NM, while maintaining a presence in both the Billings and Cody skating community.  Corey started skating when he was only 3 years old, and has enjoyed the sport immensely ever since.  After competing for a few years at the Junior National level in pairs, dance, and freestyle he decided to transition into coaching.

As a coach, Corey has enjoyed dancing the most and has turned his focus in that direction.

Corey is currently a senior at Montana State University in Bozeman, MT and is studying Pre-Medicine.
